Das 2013 von Naughty Dog für PlayStation® entwickelte Videospiel "The Last of Us" war der Startschuss für eine Medienreihe mit Videospielen, Tabletop-Spielen und einer Fernsehserie. Ein Jahrzehnt nach seiner Veröffentlichung wird das Spiel aufgrund seiner Erzählung und seines effektiven Gameplays immer noch als eines der besten Videospiele aller Zeiten angesehen. Das von der Kritik hochgelobte Videospiel spielt zwanzig Jahre nach der Zerstörung der modernen Zivilisation durch einen Virusausbruch. Joel, ein abgehärteter Überlebender, wird angeheuert, um Ellie, ein 14-jähriges Mädchen, aus einer bedrückenden Quarantänezone herauszuschmuggeln. Das ikonische Hauptthema ist eine der bekanntesten Melodien in Videospiel-Soundtracks.
