von Matthias Mader (29.03.2011) Sal Abruscato war ja bekanntlich der Mitbegründer von Type O Negative (zusammen mit Petrus Steele) und verbrachte auch Zeit bei Life Of Agony. Kein Wunder also, dass der düstere Metal-Rock seiner neuen Band A Pale Horse Named Death große Parallelen zu eben genannten Bands aufweist, ohne indes eine eindimensionale Kopie darzustellen. Abruscato ist in Brooklyn geboren und irgendwie klingt die neue CD „And hell will follow me“ auch eindeutig nach New York, nach dem legendären Club L'Amours - der Spirit von Carnivore und Biohazard lebt also in einem neuen musikalischen Gewand weiter! Und das ist gut so! Morbide aber keineswegs weinerliche Schlock-Horror-Hymnen wie „Heroin train“, „Devil in the closet“, „Serial killer“ oder „Bath in my blood“ erreichen mühelos die Klasse der frühen Danzig-Soloscheiben. „And hell will follow me“ ist ein wirklicher Kracher, der mit traumwandlerischer Sicherheit Doom, Hardcore, Metal, Gothic und sogar Okkult-Rock miteinander verbindet!
